INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- People buying tickets for Saturday's Colts playoff game need to make sure they don't get left holding a fake instead of the real thing.

That’s the advice of officials with the NFL franchise.

Jeff Neumeyer has advice to avoid some hand wringing before kickoff.

Jeff Neumeyer: " It was all quiet outside Lucas Oil Stadium mid-week.

On Saturday the venue will be rocking, as Colts fans stream in with visions of a playoff win dancing in their heads.

Colts ticket staff insist you can find cheap seats starting at $55.00 a pop, but fans can expect to pay more than double the price of a regular season ticket, since there’s so much more on the line now.

People looking for a deal or a way to land a ticket at all can be tempted to go looking on the Internet, or go looking up a scalper on a nearby street corner.

Team officials warn you to use caution when exploring those options.

Official tickets sport a bar code recognized by staff checking as you enter the gate.

With home printers and copy machines getting more sophisticated by the day, if you're not careful, you can buy something that turns out to be a fraud.

Vice President Larry Hall/Colts Ticket Operations: " We have undercover cops working the street looking for fraudulent tickets, we have uniformed officers who take police reports from folks who have been the victims of this sort of thing. It makes sense, whether it's a Colts game, a Komets game, a concert, to get it direct."

Neumeyer: " Though the Colts-Jets game will certainly be in high demand, Colts officials said on Thursday there are a few tickets still available.

The Lucas Oil Stadium ticket office or Ticketmaster in Fort Wayne are safer options for purchasing tickets, especially if you don’t want to risk being left out in the cold on game day.
