FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Volunteer Center @ RSVP is seeking volunteers to help file tax returns for local residents who cannot prepare their basic tax returns or cannot afford to pay a preparer.

Volunteers are needed to help low-income residents pay less in taxes in turn providing them with essential money for rent, utilities, food and health care.

Last year 4, 977 local residents received the free tax assistance with more than $2.1 million returned. Because of the program customers saved more than $170,000 in tax preparation and e-filing fees.

Anyone interested in volunteering of learning more should call RSVP @ Volunteer Center at 260.424.3505 or 888.219.6868 or email inforsvp@aol.com.
