FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An annual tradition kicked off at a Fort Wayne big box store Wednesday morning.

Northeast Indiana "Marines Toys for Tots" and local Dana employees and retirees pooled their resources to buy gifts for kids this holiday season.

The workers raised money, which the company matched, to fund the shopping spree. More than $15,000 was collected in all.

And the toys will be distributed later this month.

Sunday Helstrom with Marines Toys for Tots says, “I think the adults have a great time pulling all the toys off the shelves, and especially when it's not your money you're spending. So it's a lot of fun.”

Last year, Dana employees raised more than $12,000. Which bought more than 1,400 toys.
