WASHINGTON (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - House Democrats turned down the compromised tax plan President Obama reached with Republicans.

By voice vote in a closed caucus meeting, Democrats passed a resolution saying the tax package should not come to the House floor for consideration as written.

Texas Representative Lloyd Doggett says, “We were told in the meeting with the Vice President this was a take it or leave it deal. We’re saying leave it.

Independent forecasts predict that the package could create as many as 2.2 million jobs next year.
