Anthis Career Center Fruit Sale

Fort Wayne, Indiana (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – It’s that time of year…time for the annual Anthis Career Center fruit sale. Students will be packing baskets and boxes through Thursday, the day the 21st annual sale begins. Proceeds from this popular sale all go to support career education programs.

Anthis Career Center Assistant Principal Mike Roebuck says, “The classes use the money for various things. The automotive center will go up to Detroit to the Auto Show in January. Cosmetology students... Those folks will be going up to Chicago for the Hair Show. Everybody uses it for whatever their discretion is."

The sale will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Anthis Automotive Center at the corner of Lafayette and Lewis Streets. Hours are Thursday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 12:00pm, or until all of the fruit is sold.

The fruit comes from California, Texas, Washington and Spain. It is offered in a variety of packages. There are clementines, red grapefruit and navel oranges…Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Gala apples. Assortment baskets are also offered. Prices range from $8.00 to $30.00.
