45 New Jobs Coming To Whitley Co.

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Columbia City business announces plans to invest almost $4 million to expand its facilities and hire 45 new employees.

UK based Ultra Electronics - USSI manufactures advanced military sensors and surveillance systems and currently employs nearly 400 people.

The company has purchased the former AutoLiv building next door to expand operations and hopes to begin hiring more technicians in late 2011.

Alan Tio with the Whitley Co. Economic Development Corp. says, “It's a great day in Whitley County. We appreciate all the support from the local community, from Whitley County government, appreciate the dedication of USSI leadership to our area, and we're very pleased to continue to work with existing industry in Whitley County, that the EDC can in some small way support their success."

AutoLiv will lease a portion of the building from Ultra Electronics to maintain a distribution center.
