(Fort Wayne, IN) -- It's not your imagination.
This year has seen more health-related recalls than ever before.
The latest -- tens of millions of frozen pizzas.
General Mills is recalling Totino's and Jeno's frozen pizzas with pepperoni, after 21 people in 10 states contracted E.coli.
Local health officials say the increase in recalls is due to two things -- consumers are better educated about symptoms, and manufacturers are more diligent about their testing.
Mindy Waldron\Allen Co. Health Department: " That's why we do the recalls, is so you know what has been found. That didn't use to happen. It was a little more passive. So think when you take that into account, you're probably seeing and hearing more as a consumer, but that's a good thing. You're able to act on it then, pull it off your shelf."
If you have the recalled pizza, save the bar code from the package and send it to the company for a refund.
