Deer Park Taps Keg On Clover Classic Weekend (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Monday in 2014, thousands of Fort Wayne revelers will celebrate the holiday all weekend long.

Deer Park Irish Pub, 1530 Leesburg Rd., is one of the more popular places to go on St. Patrick's Day (or weekend).

Owner Tony Henry kicked off the Clover Classic, a weekend's worth of festivities, by tapping the first green beer keg.

Other popular St. Patrick's Day events at Deer Park are the People's Parade, which boasts of being the world's shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade; St. Pet-Trick animal costume party, keg tosses and a variety of beer and food.

Friday

  • 5:30 tapping of the green keg, Door prizes

  • 6:30-8 St. Patrick's and Irish Folklore Trivia Contest with Jim Lamping

  • 8-11 Live Music - Harp Condition - Jam, Rock, Progressive
  • Saturday

  • Noon-midnight Irish Toasts at the Top of each Hour

  • 1-5 p.m. Poker club, games

  • 4-7 Live Music - Wickersham Brothers- Americana Jazz Rock

  • 8-11 Live Music - Fat Turtle Trio - Acoustic Rock & Irish songs
  • Sunday - Family Day

  • 11 a.m-3 p.m. Sunday Brunch with Ragin' Cajun food truck
    Irish dishes with a little Creole pizzazz and Games: Bimini; rings, Irish bowling, Cornhole, Irish sing-a-long

  • 1 p.m. St. Pet-Trick with the SPCA; pet trick and costume contest and more.

  • 2 p.m. Dance Tonight Fort Wayne teaches the Irish Jig and Irish couples dance

  • 3-10 Monday work excuses on the hour from Facebook posts/audience

  • 3-5 Live Music - Knotwork - Celtic, instrumental music
  • Monday - St. Patrick's Day

  • 9 a.m. Morning Lauds with St Patrick's writings and Green Irish glazed doughnuts & Irish Lattes

  • Noon Corned beef sandwiches, cole slaw, chips & shamrock cookies available

  • Adoption animals from the SPCA

  • 4:00 p.m. Men's keg toss, Women's keg toss -Registration at Deer Park day of the event.

  • 4:45 Costume Contest

  • 5:00 Shamrock sprint (contestants run the parade route)

  • 5:30 The People's Parade, 17th annual world's shortest parade

  • 6:00 Live Music - Scratch N Sniff - Classic Rock
