NEW HAVEN, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - East Allen County Schools introduced Dr. Kenneth Folks as the new Superintendent of Schools Wednesday morning.

Dr. Folks was previously the Assistant Superintendent of Marion Community Schools. He has served as principal in Northwest Allen County Schools and Northern Wells Community Schools.

At an EACS board meeting Tuesday night Trustees did not divulge who they were planning to hire as superintendent, but board member Rev. Stephen Terry confirmed that it is a man.

There was no input at a public hearing on contractual perimeters for hiring a superintendent at an EACS board meeting Tuesday night, giving the board the final okay to make the hire.

Folks will enter the position with a wealth of experience. He received his bachelor and master degree’s in secondary education from IPFW. He also received his administrator’s license from IPFW and his doctorate in educational leadership from Purdue University. Folks also serve on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Association of School Principals, Indiana Public School Superintendents and Indiana Urban Schools Association.

Folks said, “I think my experience from all 32 years in public education is applicable to take the East Allen County School district to the next level. I’m happy to be the leader of the team that will make EACS the premiere school district in Northeast Indiana”.

A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Allen County Administration Building.
