Ligonier Boy Killed In Accidental Shooting

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- A young boy was accidentally shot in Ligonier.

The Noble County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call of a shooting at the 5200 block of West CR 1100 North at 12:26 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived they found that a 7-year-old Jaylin Miller had been struck by a single gun shot and died.

The investigation revealed that Jaylin and his brother were out in the yard with a firearm, attempting to kill ground moles. While outside the firearm was accidentally discharged by his brother which struck him.

The investigation by the Noble County Sheriff Department and Noble County Coroner confirmed that it was an accidental shooting.
