FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Today is the 94th anniversary of the passing of the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote.

The YWCA marked the historic occasion by taking time to encourage and empower everyone to vote this year. They are doing so by holding a voter registration drive today at their office on 1610 Spy Run Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m..

"Join us, all are welcome as we work to further our Mission of eliminating racism and empowering women on this historic day," says Mary Jo Hardiman, Chief Program Officer, in a statement released today.

Voting registration classes were also provided this morning to provide new voters with information on the voting process.
