FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Police are investigating what could have caused an older woman to careen across several front yards and plow into the corner of a home Monday afternoon.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. in the 2600 lock of Lynn Ave. when a woman drove her car across several front yards, taking out a fence and ultimately crashing into the corner of a home where the kitchen was located.

An adult, small child and newborn had just left the kitchen moments before the crash. The car broke the gas and electrical lines so the family has been displaced for a while as the house is repaired.

The car's driver was taken to the hospital in good condition. No one else was hurt.
