Woman Crashes Car With Multiple Children Improperly Restrained

ANGOLA, Ind. (21Alive) -- A woman has been cited for several violations after she crashed her car on CR W 150 S in Steuben County.

According the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, 24-year-old Nicole Tibbetts was driving her 2003 Volkswagen Jetta with seven children in the car when she went left of center and struck another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Of the seven children in Tibbets' car, six were not restrained properly including a 6 month old baby. An 8-year-old had to be flown to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan. Other than the 8-year-old child, everyone else was taken to Cameron Hospital for treatment. The children ranged in age from 6 months to 13 years old.

Tibbetts was cited for 7 seat belt violations, expired registration, and no proof of insurance.
