WARSAW, Ind. (21Alive) -- Police in Warsaw concluded their investigation into a stabbing incident that left a woman hospitalized and determined that the wounds were self-inflicted.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 400 block of S. High St. around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim told police she was unloading bags from her vehicle and returned to her car to retrieve a bottle of Pepsi when she was approached by two masked men demanding her wallet. After handing over her wallet, she told police she was stabbed as she was searching for her keys.

She was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital to be treated for a stomach wound.

The Warsaw Police wish to reassure our community that there are NO suspects at large. It is undetermined at this time if false reporting charges will be pursued.
