Video Released of Suspected Purse Snatcher

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Police release footage of suspected strong armed robber.

Police say that on Sunday, September 2, 2012 around 10 a.m., in the area of Fairfield Avenue and Berry Street, a black man of approximately 5’8” in height approached a 38-year-old woman from behind and snatched her purse before running away.

The woman’s purse and wallet were recovered but the cash contained in the wallet was declared missing.

The woman wasn’t injured during the mugging.

Detectives believe that the perpetrator could frequent the downtown area and individuals should take caution and be aware of their surroundings.

Anyone recognizing the individual in the footage is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department, or Crime Stoppers at 260 436-STOP (7867) where a cash reward is possible for information received.
