FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) --- Veterans in northeast Indiana will have access to VA clinic care once again.

Officials with the VA's Northern Indiana Healthcare System said Monday they are reopening the Acute Care Unit (ACU), the first step in a three phase ramp-up.

The ACU treats chemotherapeutic patients first, then later will provide treatment for patients with more complex ailments.

VA officials say that while the first phase of the project was being constructed, VA staffers reviewed and evaluated how to implement other steps toward providing more complete health care services for veterans.
