Unemployment Rate Drops For April

WASHINGTON, D.C. (21Alive) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has released April's employment numbers this morning, claiming a .4 percent decrease in employment.

According to the report, the total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 288,000 and the unemployment rate dropped from 6.7% to 6.4%. The Department of Labor credits professional and business services, retail trade, food services, and construction for driving job growth in April.
