FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Two women were badly injured when the moped they were riding collided with another vehicle in an intersection on Fort Wayne's Southwest Side.

Police tell 21Alive that the moped ran a red light at the intersection of Jefferson Blvd. and Getz Rd. just after 11:00p.m. Wednesday night. That's when it crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

Medics were called to the scene. Both of the women were taken to a nearby hospital. One was in critical condition, the other was last listed in serious condition.

FWPD's F.A.C.T. team is in the process of investigating the cause of the crash. Investigators tell 21Alive that neither of the women were wearing helmets.
