KEYSTONE, Ind (21Alive) -- Two juveniles have been hospitalized following an off-road vehicle accident yesterday, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Yesterday around 6:50 PM, Trinity E.F. Wine, 12, of Keystone, was operating a utility terrain vehicle with passenger Tess E. Gilbert, 12, of Warren, on private property in Keystone, Indiana.
Wine lost control of the vehicle when she was traveling on a gravel driveway and rolled the machine over. Neither juvenile was wearing a seat belt or helmet. Gilbert, the passenger, was thrown clear of the vehicle and Wine was pinned underneath.
Gilbert was transported to Bluffton Regional Medical Center for treatment of a back injury and Wine was transported by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne for treatment of head and internal injuries.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by the Wells County Sheriff’s Department, Wells County EMS, Nottingham Fire Rescue and Chester Fire Rescue.
