April 28, 2014 Updated Apr 28, 2014 at 2:06 PM EST

HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- Two men have escaped from the Henry County Jail, according to RTV6.

Michael Bertram and Johnny Dennis are thought to have escaped through the top of a pantry in the Jail's kitchen after hiding there overnight. Bertram was in jail for theft and Dennis was accused of robbery and battery.

It is believed that one of the men could be armed with a knife from the kitchen. Steel cables hold the knives in place and the cables were broken when investigators entered the kitchen.

Reports have come in that both inmates are back in police custody after they were found hiding in a friend's house.
