FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Who says you have to use your foot to play futbol? That’s the motivation behind the Turnstone Flyers, a Power Soccer team.

“Power Soccer” is a national league for people who use a power wheelchair. They even use specially designed motorized wheelchairs with a guard in the front to kick the ball.

It might look easy, but those involved say it takes more skill that you think.

“It's like riding a bike. The first time you ride a bike you're not going to be all that great. It's going to take some time to figure out the balance, figure out everything going about it. These chairs are the exact same way, you've got to really perfect it. They make it look easy because they practice a lot and really hard,” said Kevin Hughes, the Sports & Rec Coordinator at Turnstone.

Among the World Cup fever, the Turnstone Flyers have had some success of their own.

Their Champion Cup team placed 3rd in their league, ranking them 12th in the nation. The Premier Cup team will travel to Phoenix, Ariz. for the national championship the end of this week.
