Treacherous Roads To Blame In Fatal Accident

Wells County, Ind (21Alive) - Slick roadways in Wells County are to blame for a fatal accident.

Tonia Copeland, 44, was driving Southeast on SR1 around 8:30 this morning when she lost control of her car.

She fishtailed and crossed the center lane into Northbound traffic. She was struck by a semi-trailer that was unable to stop in time.

The cab and motor of Copeland's vehicle came detached from the frame and landed in a ditch.

Copeland was declared dead at the scene.

THE CAB AND MOTOR OF COPELAND'S VEHICLE CAME APART FROM THE FRAME AND LANDED IN A DITCH.
COPELAND WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.
