TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- A Tipton County Sheriff's Deputy who was killed in an on-duty crash was laid to rest this morning.

31-year-old Jacob Calvin died in an overnight crash while responding to an emergency call. He had been a Sheriff's Deputy for more than two years.

The funeral services were hold in Flora, Indiana at Carroll High School.

According to investigators, Calvin was driving his 2011 Chevrolet Impala police car northbound on Tipton County Road 300 West near C.R. 300 South just before 10 p.m. Investigators also said his emergency lights and sirens were both activated and was driving at a high speed.

For an unknown reason, Calvin's car went off the road and rolled several times, throwing the deputy from the car. Indiana State Police and the Tipton County Sheriff's Department responded to the accident and Calvin was taken to Indiana University Tipton Hospital, where he then died.
