TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (RTV6) - The Tippecanoe School Corporation announced a contingency plan for about 950 students who were displaced from two schools after Sunday’s storms.

On Tuesday, classes were canceled for hundreds of students from Southwestern Middle School and Mintonye Elementary School. Woodland Elementary was also closed due to storm damage.

All three schools sustained substantial damage and will need significant repairs.

The district will use First Assembly Community Ministries at 108 Beck Lane to temporarily house students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.

Students in seventh and eighth grade will be housed at Wea Ridge Middle School located at 4410 South, 150 East in Lafayette.

Officials said the principals of both Southwestern and Wea Ridge are determining how to best meet the educational needs of all students while maintaining each school’s identity.

Southwestern, Mintonye and Woodland teachers will meet Tuesday to discuss the schools' futures with administrators.
