STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- On Saturday, September 7, teams and individuals will get down and dirty with a mud pit, river run, and sand dune climb, all part of the first Parkview Muddy Trail Run.
The event will be hosted at the Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation, 2282 West 500 South, Pleasant Lake, in Steuben County (10 minutes off I-69, exit 340). Activities will be held rain or shine – rain will simply add more fun!
The 5K Parkview Muddy Trail Run is designed as a fun obstacle course, not a speed or hard-core challenge event. Teams of 2-, 3-, and 4-persons and individual participants will run in 8 heats, beginning at 10:00 am. and continuing through the day. Friends and family are invited to bring food, chairs, or blankets to watch the muddy fun and capture the day in pictures and video.
Entrants who register before August 24 receive a free T-shirt and tote bag. Every participant gets a hearty lunch, too. Registration fees are $45 per person through August 24, and $50 per person through September 6. Entrants must be at least 14 years of age.
Also available are 30-foot Rock Climbing Wall and 150-yard Zip Line experiences.
Participants do not need to enter the 5K to register for either or both of these added thrills. The Zip Line fee is $35 per person; the Rock Climbing Wall fee is $30 per person.
The Parkview Muddy Trail Run is a partnership of Junior Achievement and Anthony Wayne
Proceeds will benefit both local organizations, and registrants can direct their support. For more information and to register, visit www.MuddyTrailRun.com or call Junior Achievement at (260) 484-2543.
