FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – A Three Rivers Festival tradition is celebrating its 30th anniversary this summer.
Back in 1984, Jim Bordner wrote and recorded the festival's theme song, "It’s Festival Time". Bordner remixed the song in 2008 with a Dixieland flavor.
Todd Ramsey played drums on the original recording and wanted to be part of the new version.
Rick Brown's dad played clarinet on the original tune, but grabbed the torch to play clarinet on the new song.
“The thing about Dixieland is you can't hear it and not smile. Everybody loves it. It doesn't matter if you're six years old or you're 86 years old everybody who hears it, you know, taps their toes and you smile,” said Jim Bordner, Three Rivers Festival song composer.
All the musicians donated their time and talents on the project, as a gift to the city of Fort Wayne and its festival.
