LIGONIER, Ind. (21Alive) -- A local car-part manufacturer is hiring and managers will hold a job fair this weekend.
Tenneco Incorporated, in Ligonier, is looking to hire 50 new employees. They'll accept applications tomorrow at the Ligonier Recreational Center, at 520 W. Union St.
Hiring managers will be there from 9 a.m. until noon. All available jobs are full-time.
They're looking for machine operators, welders, material handlers and equipment set-up operators. Teneco makes parts for the Chrysler Corporation.

Tenneco Inc., a global designer, manufacturer and distributor of clean-air and ride-performance products and systems for the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, will hold a job fair October 19 in Ligonier to fill 50 positions, according to the Northeast Indiana Regional Workforce Investment Board.
The job fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 at the Ligonier Recreational Center, 520 W. Union St., Ligonier.
Tenneco recently hired 50 people to help support the launch of a new product line for Chrysler Corp. It is still seeking an additional 50 workers.
The open positions include machine operators, welders, material handlers and equipment set-up operators. Starting wages for the full-time positions range from $13 to $14.50 an hour, and length-of-service-based wage increases are offered every six months until top pay for the jobs is reached.
Prospective employees must have achieved high-school equivalency. In cases where a specialized skill is needed, Tenneco officials said, training will be offered.
Tenneco’s Ligonier facility currently has 650 employees and manufactures clean-air products for both Chrysler and Ford, including mufflers and catalytic converters.
