FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It was an emotional evening for more than 150 nurses who are graduates of the Parkview Methodist School of Nursing.
Nurses from all over came to take pictures share memories and say goodbye to the English Hall Building that will be torn down later this month. What they didn't expect was the staff unveiling a time capsule that had been hidden in the back of the school in 1953. The year of the school's very first class.
Vice President of Operations for Parkview Randallia said " "Just to see their faces, to hear the gasp once we said we had a time capsule, I mean it's the best feeling. It's why we wanted to do this for them."
Among many mementos, the capsule held newspaper articles, magazines, nursing pins, and a 1953 class roster.
