Stutzman To Run For House Majority Whip

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Congressman Marlin Stutzman will be making a run for House Majority Whip.

Indiana U.S. Representative Stutzman (R – IN, 3rd District) acknowledges that his candidacy will be "a long shot" when running against seasoned Representatives Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Peter Roskam of Illinois.

But, he says the time is right for Washington to use some Indiana leadership.
“It's not something that I was planning to do. It was a race and I just felt that we need to have choices, give people choices to choose from and leadership and I think we have a lot to be proud of here in Indiana and I think some Hooiser leadership in Washington is a good thing,” he said.

Stutzman says if he wins, he'll continue to work on fixing the economy and continually improving the Hoosier state.
