Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Last week we told you that the critical inpatient care units at Fort Wayne's VA Hospital suddenly shut down, forcing veterans needing medical care to go elsewhere.

As of Wednesday morning, those units remain closed.

The VA released a statement saying the shutdown was needed for review and to provide training to staff members.

We met up with Congressman Marlin Stutzman at the GOP Bean Dinner, Tuesday night, asking what he knows about the unit shutdown.

Congressman Stutzman says, “We've been told by the VA Administration that it's just a temporary pause. That they want to do some maintenance issues there at the hospital. And hopefully they'll be back up and running in a couple of weeks.”

Stutzman said his office is staying on top of the issue to make certain area veterans receive the care they need localy.
