FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Indiana State Board of Education is meeting in Fort Wayne today, at the Ivy Tech campus on N. Anthony Blvd.
Superintendent Glenda Ritz will also be present at the meeting where her and the board will be discussing a variety of topics. Among topics up for discussion is the issue of allowing individuals without teaching degrees to become teachers in the state. This will be a theoretical discussion about whether or not this should be allowed in Indiana.
These meetings have become a public show of tension between Ritz and the board, as they have been at odds since she took over as the state superintendent.
The meeting is set to begin at 12:30 and will last several hours.
21Alive Jeff Neumeyer is out at Ivy Tech today to attend the meeting,
