BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The son of former Pacers coach and executive, Larry Bird, was arrested Sunday by campus police at Indiana University.
Conner Bird, 21, was arrested on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, battery with injury, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. According to reports, a woman, 20, who claims to be Bird's ex-girlfriend flagged down an IU Police officer after Bird tried to run her over with his car.
The woman reports that the altercation started when the couple argued at Bird's apartment, she then walked to her home but Bird was there waiting for her when she arrived. She says she got in his car and they drove to a parking lot at Memorial Stadium and continued to argue.
When she got out of the vehicle and started to walk away, she reports that Bird chased her through the parking lot with his car, attempting to run her over. The woman found another woman sitting in a nearby car and she drove the ex-girlfriend away from Bird until they were able to get assistance from campus police.
Police arrested Bird and he was booked into the Monroe County Jail. This is Bird's second arrest in Bloomington, the first was in October 2011 for underage drinking and disorderly conduct, according to court records.
