WARSAW, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) --The skateboarder hit by a van in Warsaw has been identified and his condition has been confirmed.

Austin Valentine, 15 of Warsaw, is listed in critical condition due to sever head trauma.

It happened at the intersection of Center and Detroit St. a little after 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Warsaw Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene where a vehicle has apparently struck a teenaged pedestrian.

Police say the teen entered the crosswalk headed west and was struck by a van that was headed east and had an automated left turn traffic signal to proceed north onto Detroit.

The teen was skateboarding and went airborne when he was struck by the van, driven by Boyd Zickafoose, 62.

No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
