Shooting On Lillie St. Leads To Police Standoff (PHOTOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- A morning shooting led to a standoff between police and a barricaded subject that ended without incident.

Police responded to the 2900 block of Lillie St. on reports of shots fired around 8:10 this morning. When police arrived they located the victim who had been targeted but not struck by the gunfire.

Shortly after arriving, Police began to pursue a vehicle matching the description of the suspected shooter's but lost sight of it. Officers eventually were given information that led them to a home in the 7600 block of Verona near Hessen Cassel and Tillman. The vehicle police wre previously pursuing was parked outside the residence. The suspect inside was identified as 48-year-old Michael Underwood.

Underwood initially refused to exit the house but police were able to get him to surrender without incident.

Underwood was taken into custody and charges are pending.
