FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- More than 50,000 people from all 50 states and several foreign countries are in Fort Wayne this week, ready to shop.
"I flew from Florida to Georgia to North Carolina, met one sister, we drove from North Carolina to Virginia, West Virginia, to Ohio and picked up 2 other sisters," shopper Mary Jo Meakin told 21Alive.
More than 1,000 miles and several stops later, Meakin was ready to start picking out the perfect patterns. But some shoppers even needed a passport to make the trip.
"Canada, we have Venezuela, Trinidad, Australia, the United Kingdom, it's really interesting to see where our fans come from," Kate Virag, a Public Relations official with Vera Bradley told 21Alive.
For the thousands of people who come out for the sale, lines, lines, and more lines, is how they spend the majority of their time. But this year Vera Bradley has worked to make even that part of the experience fun for everyone.
Shopper Holly Friedrich told us, "it helps make the time go, you know when you stand in line and you've got something to kind of keep you occupied, it makes it go faster so that's always good."
These TVs play videos, music and show fun facts about the Summit City while shoppers wait in line to checkout.
