Sentencing Set For Second Man Charged In Mercer County Double-Murder

August 14, 2014 Updated Aug 14, 2014 at 1:30 PM EDT

MERCER COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday August 19 for Trevin Sanders Roark.

Roark pleaded guilty in February to murder charges related to the 2011 double-murder of a Mercer County father and daughter. Earlier this week, his alleged accomplice Bryant Rhoades was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

In November 2011, the father and daughter were found bound by duct tape and fatally shot in their Fort Recovery, Ohio home.

Sanders Roark, who was 17 at the time, told police he smoked meth with co-defendant, Bryant Rhoades, before concocting a plan to break into the Grube's home because they believed there could be pills, money, electronics, and jewelry inside.

Sanders Roark admitted they agreed to approach the home with a made up story that their car broke down and they needed to use a phone.
