CHURUBUSCO, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Board of School Trustees approved two Saturday school make-up days for Smith-Green Community Schools.

Due to the extreme weather, many schools are looking at alternatives to make-up for missed school days. Many other area school districts opted to extend the school day to make up for missed time.

SGCS is planning on using Saturday Mar. 22 and Apr. 12. as part of their make-up schedule. The district is also using a built in make up day, Mar 14, and will use Good Friday, Apr 18, as another make up day.

Additionally, the district has added 30 minutes the the school day from Mar. 3 through the end of the school year, which is now June 2 after adding a day to the end of the year.
