Retired Exec. Dir. Of Jewish Federation Of FW Receives Sagamore

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Indiana State Senator Jim Banks and Judge Mike Rush presented Doris Fogel with the Sagamore of the Wabash at the Rotary Club of Downtown Fort Wayne meeting Monday afternoon.

Fogel is the retired Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne and a member of the Downtown Rotary Club.

The Sagamore of the Wabash award was created during the term of Governor Ralph Gates, who served from 1945 to 1949. The award is highest honor, which the Governor of Indiana bestows. It is a personal tribute usually given to those who have rendered a distinguished service to the state or to the governor.
