INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- A retired elementary school teacher with Jay County Schools claimed a $121,000 Cash 5 prize last week.

Robert Taylor of Hartford City matched all five numbers in the Oct. 5 Cash 5 drawing and snagged the game's top prize.

"It is a pleasant surprise," said Taylor as he waited for his winnings at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis Oct. 7.

Taylor won on a Cash 5 ticket that matched all five numbers in the Oct. 5 drawing. Those numbers were: 5-13-25-30-37.

"I'm going to pay off bills and hope there's a little left over for fun," said Taylor who purchased his winning ticket at John's Service at 115 South Walnut Street in Hartford City.

As a retired teacher, Taylor was benefiting from the Hoosier Lottery before he won - and even before he ever purchased a ticket. Every year, the Hoosier Lottery contributes $30 million to the Teachers' Retirement Fund and $30 million to police and firefighters' pensions. The remaining Hoosier Lottery profits help reduce motor vehicle excise taxes by 50 percent.

The Hoosier Lottery reminds all players to play responsibly. Must be 18 or older to play. Gambling Addiction Referral Line: 800-994-8448.
