PAULDING CO., Ohio (21Alive) -- Reopen the jail or move on - that's the decision Paulding County residents have on the table.
Back in 2002, voters passed a tax levy to build the county jail and pay operational costs.
But after the state-of-the-art facility was built, residents changed their minds, ultimately forcing the jail to shut down.
Now Paulding County Sheriff, Jason Landers, wants to gauge public opinion and possibly put the levy back on the ballot in November.
