FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – The holiday spirit is all about giving, and one local radio station held true to that idea.

Wild 96.3FM held their 2nd annual Hams for the Holidays giveaway Saturday at the Discount Tire Factory on Wallace Street.

The hip-hop and R&B station gave away 96 hams and 96 toys to needy families that signed up on their website.

Organizers say that giving back to the community is one of the best aspects of their job.

"Being able to provide a ham or even a toy and seeing some of the kids like ‘Yes!’ or, we have four big ride-on toys that we gave away. Each one that we gave away the kids were very, very excited and I just love it when I see them being grateful for something like this,” said Big Kess, who DJ’s Wild 96.3’s morning show.

The radio station also gave away turkeys for Thanksgiving last month as they continue their dedication to help less fortunate families in the inner city.
