Prosecutor Seeks Death Penalty For Fatal Shooting Of IMPD Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- Marion County prosecutors officially announced they would seek the death penalty against the man accused of fatally shooting IMPD officer Perry Renn.

According to RTV6, prosecutors formally filed for the death penalty as a possible sentence if Major Davis II is convicted of killing Officer Renn.

Davis stands accused of fatally shooting the officer with an assault rifle on July 5 of this year.

A trial has been set for Dec. 1.
