FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- The Indiana State Police is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Agency for the nationwide "Prescription Drug Take Back" initiative.

On April 26th, any individual wanting to dispose of their prescription medication that is expired or no longer needed can do so at any Indiana State Police Post. The medication can be dropped of between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will be safely disposed of.

The initiative aims to reduce the amount of prescription drugs that may fall into the hands of those looking to abuse them.

In Fort Wayne, the State Police Post is located at 5811 Ellison Road.
