Landscaper Dies Days After Lawn Mower Pond Accident (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A Fort Wayne man who worked for a landscaping company died Tuesday, days after being pulled from a retention pond while working.

Robert Houser Jr., 26, died around 3 p.m., the Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced.

Houser was on a riding lawnmower when it slid down an embankment into a pond at in West Chester Lakes addition.

He was pinned under the submerged lawn mower for an unknown amount of time.

Co-workers saw Houser in the water, and worked to rescue him. They gave him CPR until emergency crews arrived.

Houser was flown to a hospital, where he died.
