CROMWELL, Ind. (21Alive) - Authorities are warning residents in Noble County of a driveway sealing scam.
The Indiana State Police and Noble County Sheriff's Department has requested the public's help in finding the father and son team who are said to have bilked a couple in the Cromwell area.
On July 9, police say the two men offered to spray the couple's gravel driveway with blacktop sealer. After an quote of $200 for the job, the men asked the couple to pay $2,000.
The couple obliged, police say; at which time, the men managed to go inside the couple's home and steal additional cash.
The father is described as a white, heavy set man with skin tags on his eye lids. The son is believed to be a white man around 18-20. They were seen in a red Ford pick-up truck with a black tank in the bed of the truck.
Anyone who has been solicited by the men or knows whom they are is asked to call the Indiana State Police at (260) 432-8661 or (800) 552-0976, or the Noble County Sheriff Department at (260) 636-2182.
