Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A robber targeting gas stations across Indiana isn't taking cash. Instead he's looking to cash in on the Lotto. Police across the state are on the hunt for the man whose stealing scratch off lottery tickets.

One of the stations hit was Phil’s One Stop Marathon Gas Station on Hillegas Road at Butler Road in Fort Wayne. The Allen County Sheriff's Department says that's what he has done at 12 gas stations across the state. Police say he later cashes the tickets in at another location.

Early Monday morning is when the Phil’s One Stop Marathon was robbed. The surveillance video shows the man breaking through the front glass door and running straight for the lottery tickets. He was inside this gas station for just 16 seconds before getting away in a white Dodge Stratus.

The owner of Phil’s One Stop says this is why it's so vital to have security cameras and he's hopeful the pictures will result in an arrest.

"It makes you feel like you've been taken advantage of when somebody breaks into your business. And they should just get a job, instead of stealing from people," said Phil Carper, Owner, Phil's One Stop Marathon Station.

"That's one of the things we've always had, good security cameras and good security systems so we can monitor our business when we're not there, and even when we're there so we can monitor who is coming in and who is going out. And hopefully help the police or investigators find these people who do rob places," said Renee Carper, Co-Owner, Phil's One Stop Marathon Station.

Carper says about 24 rolls of the scratch off tickets were taken. He reported all of the stolen tickets to the Hoosier Lottery.

Police have a photo of one of the suspects but they believe two people are involved in these robberies. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 260-449-7409.
