MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (21Alive) -- The Mercer County & Paulding County Sheriff's Departments are reporting that 911 phone lines are down in both counties.

Landline phones appear to be working but cell phones are not. If you are in Mercer County and need emergency assistance call 419-586-7724 from a landline phone.

In Paulding County, dispatch is not receiving 911 or non-emergency calls from Frontier customers on landline phones. The backup number is 419-258-1832.

Residents are advised to use cell phones to call, if necessary.

UPDATE: Both 911 phone lines have since been restored.
