Organizing For Action Hosts Forum To Discuss Community Gun Violence

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- One the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Organizing for Action will be hosting a forum with local leaders to discuss measures being taken to alleviate gun violence within our community.

The group is asking for the public's help in addressing these issues and invites them to attend on Saturday, Dec. 14th from 1-3 p.m. at the Public Safety Academy (behind the Walmart at Southtown Crossing Shopping Center).

Featured speakers include: Mayor Tom Henry (Video Message), Rusty York (Chief of Police), Jonathan Ray (President of the Fort Wayne Urban League), Rev. Dr. Saharra Bledsoe (Fort Wayne NAACP President), Patrick Ashton, Ph. D. (Director of Peace and Conflict Studies at IPFW), Sheila Campbell (Advisor of Students Against Violence Everywhere), and Andre Patterson (Chairperson with the Fort Wayne Commission on African American Males).
