One Dead After Crash, Traffic Jam In Elkhart County (VIDEO)

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (21Alive) – U.S. 33 in Elkhart County was shut down for four hours Sunday afternoon after a fatal crash.

Police told WBND in South Bend that around 11:30 a.m., a car was heading south on U.S. 33 when it crossed over the center line and collided head on with a mini-van.

The driver of the mini-van, 47-year-old Cynthia Gilleo of Celina, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people, including the driver of the car, were air-lifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Their conditions are unknown.
