Olivia & Liam Top The Allen County Baby Name List For 2012

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The Allen County Department of Health has announced the top boy and girl baby names for 2012.

According to a tally of birth certificates filed with the health department, 40 baby girls were named Olivia, making it the area's most popular girl name, and 50 baby boys were named Liam, putting it at the top of the boy name chart.

There were a total of 6,762 babies born in Allen County last year, 3,471 boys and 3,291 girls. National trends showed that Sophia, Olivia and Emma all ranked in the top three names for girls and Allen County stayed true to that with the same names topping the area's top three. For the boys however, Allen County differed from the national top three of Aiden, Jackson and Ethan, with Liam topping the list and William coming in third. Jacob, Lucas and Mason all tied for 2nd in Allen County.
